Thrivous designed Alpha for daily use to support long-term brain function. Our formula is guided by science, which enables us to identify nootropics and geroprotectors with the greatest potential to support healthy cognitive aging beyond what can be achieved through traditional lifestyle choices alone.
Guided by Science
Alpha contains ingredients at concentrations and amounts based on high levels of evidence for notable effect from peer-reviewed, double-blind, placebo-controlled studies on humans.
We make Alpha from substances in the human diet, including amino acid derivatives, fatty acids, and herbs. It does not contain substances derived from animals. All ingredients and capsules are vegan.
Alpha-GPC is a fatty acid produced naturally in the brain. Supplementation may support long-term brain function.
Ginkgo Biloba is an ancient tree with fossils dating back 270 million years. Supplementation may support long-term brain function.
Acetyl-L-Carnitine (ALCAR) is an amino acid derivative. Supplementation may decrease ammonia to detoxify the brain.
Thrivous publishes the Alpha formula openly and completely, and strives to improve the formula continuously. This contrasts sharply with the practices of many vendors, who hide their product formulas behind proprietary blends.
Alpha has an open-source formula that identifies all ingredients and their dosages. This is the only way to know what and how much you are using, which is essential to good decisions.
Because science is never finished, we continuously monitor and review new studies, consult with our advisor board of physicians and scientists, and update the Alpha formula accordingly.
|ALCAR (from Acetyl-L-Carnitine Hydrochloride)||500 mg (up to 2000 mg)|
|Alpha-GPC (L-Alpha-Glycerophosphocholine)||300 mg (up to 1200 mg)|
|Alpha-Lipoic Acid||150 mg (up to 600 mg)|
|Ginkgo Biloba extract (24% flavone glycoside, 6% terpene lactone)||90 mg (up to 360 mg)|
Thrivous publishes a certificate of analysis and quality for Alpha, sharing all test results from our suppliers and manufacturers. This is exceptional among vendors, who often withhold test results or make them difficult to find.
Our suppliers subject each ingredient to stringent quality testing, including identity, potency, microbial, heavy metals, and other testing as appropriate prior to release for manufacturing.
Our manufacturers follow strict GMP regulation from the FDA in audited and certified facilities. They monitor production and test finished product to ensure quality prior to release for shipping.

May I take more than four servings of Alpha per day?
We recommend that you take one or two servings of four (4) capsules one or two times daily with meals, for a total of four to sixteen capsules daily. We don't know of any studies that support benefit from higher doses per day of the ingredients in Alpha. Because anything consumed to excess may become dangerous, caution is warranted. If you'd like to take more than four servings of Alpha per day, please consult your physician.
How much Alpha is in each bottle?
Each bottle contains 120 capsules of Alpha. One bottle is a 30-day supply, if taken at the low end of the recommended dosage range (four capsules per day). Four bottles are a 30-day supply, if taken at the high end of the recommended dosage range (sixteen capsules per day).
Is Alpha safe?
Yes. Alpha is safe for most people, if taken as directed. In the United States, all of Alpha's ingredients are legal, and the FDA accepts them as dietary supplement components under provisions of the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act of 1994. Please consult a physician before and during use of dietary supplements.
Does Alpha have adverse effects?
Alpha is safe. However, a small number of people may experience adverse effects such as agitation, constipation, diarrhea, fishy odor, headache, nausea, palpitations, rash, stomachache, or vertigo. Because Alpha contains Ginkgo, which may promote bleeding during surgery in a small number of people, stop using Alpha one to two weeks before any surgery. If you experience any pain or discomfort while using Alpha, stop immediately and consult your physician.
