Formula

Thrivous publishes the Serenity formula openly and completely, and strives to improve the formula continuously. This contrasts sharply with the practices of many vendors, who hide their product formulas behind proprietary blends.

Open-Source Formula

Serenity has an open-source formula that identifies all ingredients and their dosages. This is the only way to know what and how much you are using, which is essential to good decisions.

Continuous Improvement

Because science is never finished, we continuously monitor and review new studies, consult with our advisor board of physicians and scientists, and update the Serenity formula accordingly.

Ingredients Dosages
L-Theanine 200 mg
Magnesium (from Magnesium Glycinate) 200 mg
Melatonin 5 mg
Quality

Thrivous publishes a certificate of analysis and quality for Serenity, sharing all test results from our suppliers and manufacturing. This is exceptional among vendors, who often withhold test results or make them difficult to find.

Quality Suppliers

Our suppliers subject each ingredient to stringent quality testing, including identity, potency, microbial, heavy metals, and other testing as appropriate prior to release for manufacturing.

Quality Manufacturing

Our manufacturing follows strict GMP regulation from the FDA in audited and certified facilities. We monitor production and test finished product to ensure quality prior to release for shipping.

Customer Questions & Answers

Ask a question

What effects should I expect from Serenity?

Thrivous designed Serenity to promote calm and sleep, and to improve next-day focus. For most people, the effects will be notable or strong. We selected each ingredient of Serenity for its nootropic effect based on multiple peer-reviewed, double-blind, placebo-controlled studies on humans. L-Theanine may promote relaxation. Magnesium Glycinate may promote calm and improve sleep quality. And Melatonin may promote sleep.

How often should I use Serenity?

Thrivous formulated Serenity for consistent nightly use — chronic supplementation. Unless otherwise indicated by your physician, we recommend that you take one serving of two (2) capsules one hour before sleep daily, preferably in the evening. To help with consistency and to save money, consider our convenient subscription option.

How soon should I notice the effects of Serenity?

You may feel calm and sleepy within an hour of supplementation. You may notice some improvement to focus the next day, and more improvement to next-day focus within a few weeks of nightly supplementation.

How much Serenity is in each bottle?

Each bottle contains a 30-day supply of Serenity, if taken as directed. Each bottle contains sixty capsules, which is thirty servings of two capsules daily.

Is Serenity safe?

Yes. Serenity is safe for most people, if taken as directed. In the United States, all of Serenity's ingredients are legal, and the FDA accepts them as dietary supplement components under provisions of the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act of 1994. Please consult a physician before and during use of dietary supplements.

Is Serenity a sedative?

Yes. Serenity is a sedative. It may promote sleep. Do not use Serenity before any activity that requires attention. Only use Serenity when you plan to sleep.

Is Serenity addictive?

No. Serenity is not addictive. We know of no studies associated with ingredients in Serenity that have noted dependencies among their results. We developed Serenity to complement the health benefits of fasting. It should not be difficult to abstain from using Serenity when desired.

Does Serenity have adverse effects?

Serenity is safe. However, a small number of people may experience adverse effects such as diarrhea, dizziness, headache, nausea, or stomachache. If you experience any pain or discomfort while using Serenity, stop immediately and consult your physician.

Does Serenity interact with pharmaceuticals?

Serenity may interact with some pharmaceuticals. Moderate interaction (be cautious with this combination) may result with aminoglycoside antibiotics, antacids, anticoagulants, anticonvulsants, antidiabetics, antihypertensives, antiplatelets, bisphosphonates, calcium channel blockers, contraceptives, cytochrome p450 substrates, digoxin, fluvoxamine, gabapentin, immunosuppressants, methamphetamine, muscle relaxants, nifedipine, potassium-sparing diuretics, sedatives, stimulants, sulfonylureas, tetracycline antibiotics, quinolone antibiotics, verapamil, and warfarin. Minor interaction (be watchful with this combination) may result with flumazenil. Please consult a physician before adding any of these pharmaceuticals or Serenity to your regimen.

Does Serenity interact with other nutraceuticals?

Serenity may interact with some nutraceuticals. There are varying levels of evidence for varying magnitudes of interaction (positive or negative) between ingredients in Serenity and nutraceuticals such as 5-HTP, Alcohol, Alpha-Lipoic Acid, Caffeine, Calcium, Cyclosporin A, Galantamine, Glutamine, Green Tea, Inulin, L-Carnitine, Nicotine, Resveratrol, Selenium, Trytophan, Vitamin B6, Vitamin C, Vitamin D, and Zinc. We recommend that you consider Vitamin D to complement Serenity. We also designed Clarity, Alpha, and occasional Surge to complement Serenity. Please consult a physician before adding any of these nutraceuticals to your regimen.

If I use Serenity, may I also use other Thrivous products?

Yes. We designed Serenity to complement other Thrivous products. For example, take Clarity and Alpha with breakfast, Alpha again with lunch or dinner, Serenity before bed, and occasionally Surge during the day with Clarity or Alpha. Do not take Clarity, Alpha, or Surge before sleep. Only take Serenity before sleep.

May I take more than one serving of Serenity per day?

We recommend that you take one serving of two (2) capsules one hour before sleep daily, preferably in the evening. Some people may benefit from higher doses per day, and we don't know of any reason that Serenity would be dangerous at two servings per day. However, because anything consumed to excess may become dangerous, caution is warranted. If you'd like to take more than one serving of Serenity per day, please consult your physician.

May women who are pregnant or nursing use Serenity?

We do not recommend Serenity for women who are pregnant or nursing. So far as we know, few studies of Serenity's ingredients have included them. If you are pregnant or nursing and would like to use Serenity, please consult your physician.

May children take Serenity?

We do not recommend Serenity for children. So far as we know, few studies of Serenity's ingredients have included them.
